about ME

Although I have had dogs all my life, it was only after adopting a rescue dog from Greece, 8 years ago that I decided I wanted to work with dogs as a job.

Until that point I had spent my career in IT Support, mainly for Investment Banks in the City, although the last five years I spent as Head of IT for a local animal charity.

Adopting Lola who was reactive not only to other dogs and people but to a whole host of things such as hi-vis vests; vans and people with sticks led me to spend a lot of time learning about and understanding dog behaviour and psychology, in an effort to help her and also my other rescue dog.

My dogs and I have attended weekly training classes for the last 7 years, including Obedience, Scent Work and Agility and I have taken my dogs through the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme, earning the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

I have attended classes or seminars in Canine First Aid, Canine Massage and Pain and its impact on Behaviour in Dogs.

I am DBS checked and fully insured. To offer a professional service, I fully comply with the Professional Dog Walking Guidelines produced by the Dogs Trust, the Pet Industry Federation (PIF) and RSPCA.

Dogs are an important part of peoples lives, and I am fortunate to be able to offer my services as a volunteer dog walker for the Cinnamon Trust, the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets.

I take great pleasure in exploring the local countryside, seeking out new and interesting walks for my dogs to ensure they don’t get bored. My local area includes the beautiful surroundings of the Woolbeding Countryside, managed by the National Trust. This landscape has a wide variety of habitats, from the river valley, heathland, woodland and parkland supporting a diverse spectrum of wildlife.

Anyone familiar with the local area will appreciate the stunning views available and the dogs always enjoy the variety of sniffs!

Services

INDIVIDUAL / small group Dog Walk

I mainly offer individual walks or small group walks (up to 4 carefully selected, compatible dogs) as I believe this allows each walk to be tailored to the specific needs of each dog.

Dogs walked in large groups can be intimidating to other dogs or members of the public, and it can be difficult to ensure each dog receives the attention it needs whilst out walking.

This style of walk offers a more comfortable pace for your dog, especially for puppies and senior dogs.

All dog walks start when we anrrive at the walk location and does not include travel time. I always make sure there is fresh water for the dogs to drink, especially if the weather is warmer and each dog is looked after according to their own individual personality.

I will meet with you and your dog to, discuss your specific needs and ensure that both you and your dog are completely happy with me

I am used to walking both highly energetic dogs and dogs with a more leisurely attitude to life, ensuring that each dog receives a bespoke service.

home visit

Home pet visits are suitable for dogs, puppies, cats and small furries, for times your friends need to be fed, watered, checked on or just have time spent with them to make sure they’re OK.  This can be a great stress-free alternative to a cattery or other boarding options.

My service provides in-home pet care for dogs, cats and small furries.

Home Visits are also ideal for puppies and older dogs too where the dog walking service may not be suitable.

Woolbeding Walks aims to deliver a first class service for you and your best friend.
